   Up the Creek Scents was started about 11 years ago. The name came from the road the vendor lived on at the time, Smith’s Creek Road. People would ask where the vendor lived, and she would reply “Up Smith’s Creek”. Then she just turned the name into Up the Creek Candles. The vendor had a retail store that closed due to economic reasons, and at that point the vendor took a break from the business. When the vendor returned, someone else used the domain name Up the Creek Candles. The vendor then chose the name, Up the Creek Scents.

• Availability: The vendor does have a custom order list, but also keeps RTS section on the website with items up for grabs. The vendor tries to restock items every few days, essentially making her products easy to obtain.
  
  
• Turn Around Time (TAT): The RTS turn around time is about 2 days not including shipping time. The average TAT for custom orders is about a week from when she starts the order.

• Price: $$  

• Cure Time: The vendor recommends around 2 weeks cure time. She said it is all in the preference, and if the customer has the ability to wait. As you may know, I cure all my wax for no less than a month.
  
  
• Warmer Recommended: 20 watt warmer. “The ugly Glade or Febreeze warmers work well.” They run a little hotter than a 20 watt warmer, but not as hot as a 24 watt warmer. The vendor feels that 24 watt warmers run a bit too hot, and you are not getting as much bang for your buck. Essentially, with 24 watt warmers you will go through wax a lot faster. This holds true for most, if not all companies.

• Wax Look:
• This wax held up extremely well during shipping. All molds held their shape in fairly hot weather. I am not sure how long the package was sitting on my porch, but probably long enough to melt. My mail doesn’t normally come as early as it did, so I was surprised when I updated the tracking to see it had been delivered. Nothing was melted at all, very impressed.
• Normally, I wouldn’t describe wax as adorable, but this wax is totally adorable. The scent shots are just so cute. The molds are cute. The little stamps she puts on the tarts are cute. Just freaking CUTE!

• Cold Smell:
• The Cookie Bakery - OMG! I have never had such a hard time waiting my set cure time. This smelled so amazing cold that I frequently went to it just to sniff it. It had a creamy baked cookie smell to it.
  
  
• Fruity Pebbles - Fruity awesomeness is the best way to describe the cold smell.
  
  
• Fruit Stripe Gum - A fruity scent with noticeable powdery notes…as those you may find on a piece of gum.

• The Cookie Bakery - Strong creamy cookie smell. Overall a very wonderful smell.

• Lavender Marshmallow - This scent reminds me of the lavender scented dryer sheets. A very pleasant scent.

Wax Melting Review: 

• Detailed Description of Each Smell
• Candy Buttons - This scent got fairly strong fairly quickly. A strong sweet fruity scent with a slight bit of artificialness that reminded me of the wax paper used with candy buttons. Normally I really hate artificialness in wax scents, but it actually really worked for this scent.

• Lavender Marshmallow - A creamy sweet lavender scent. Very nice and relaxing.

• This smelly sand is too freaking cute! Don’t even get me started on the cuteness of the little shovel!
