            Flaming Star Scents, formerly known as Pics, Petals, and Scents, is owned and operated by Marcy Wilcox Maynard. The creative journey began in 2009 with framed photography, floral arrangements, gel candles, and decorative soaps. The vendor went digital with her business in 2010 when she began selling online. It was this business transition that spawned the request for wax tarts. Eventually the business’s primary focus shifted to all things wax. The vendor did have a retail store for 2 years that closed in 2013 due to personal responsibilities and scheduling conflicts.

            As some of you may have noticed, this vendor recently changed the company name. This change was inspired by the vendor’s love of Elvis and his song/movie Flaming Star. The vendor loves Elvis so much that she even has an Elvis Museum in her basement. (I must put her in contact with my fiancé’s grandmother. According to my fiancé, Elvis is her man.)

Penis Tarts!!! I had expressed my delight over this vendor's penis tarts that I had received in a destash. She made sure to include some as extras on my order!

-         This is the perfume version of a tea scent.

-         A creamy chocolate scent.

-         A creamy pumpkin scent. Not too spicy. Very pleasant.

-         A creamy orange scent, with a very subtle hint of cinnamon (the cinnamon aspect is according to my mother, but I couldn’t smell it).

• Sweet Tea

-         A very strong floral/perfume scent!

• Campfire S’mores

-         A very chalky chocolate scent. I believe it smells very similar to the Nesquick Chocolate milk powder.

-         A creamy strawberry scent.

-         A beautiful mixture of creamy pumpkin and apple.
 

• Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Scoop Bread

-         A creamy blueberry scent. I swear you could smell blueberry seeds…weird huh? I liked it!

o    I personally love this vendor. She has a great sense of humor and is always willing to accept feedback.

• Scents don’t stay too strong for an extended length of time in 24 watt warmers. I believe you can extend the scent throw of this vendor’s wax by using a lower wattage warmer.

-         Not into floral/perfume scents.

-         I still don’t like strawberry scents. This doesn’t really surprise me that this wasn’t the exception.

• Campfire S’mores

-         The chocolate scent was not as rich as I would have liked it to be.

• How the wax could be improved?/Was it missing something?
• I feel as if the sweet tea scent should be slightly sweeter. Perhaps a sugared lemon scent would be a good additive to put in this scent to put it over the top.
• I feel as if the Campfire S’mores should have been named chocolate milk. Personally, I feel that name better represents this scent. For a S’mores scent I would like a richer chocolate. Perhaps a dark chocolate scent with marshmallow added to create the creamy milk chocolate like scent often found when making S’mores. Maybe some cinnamon to intensify graham crackers.

• Was it worth the money?
• Yes!

•  Would I purchase from this vendor again?
• Absolutely! This vendor has some great blends and great products. As far as customer service goes, she is top notch. I see no reason as to why I shouldn’t purchase from this vendor again! In fact, the scents I did like I really liked, and hope to order more of!

-         A delicious sweet bakery zucchini bread scent that is made more delicious with lemon undertones.

-         A mac apple scent with added cinnamon sugar sweetness.

-         A delicious creamy lemon scent that has a pastry aspect to it.

-         A relaxing spa scent with detectable floral notes and a hint of sweetness. Almost a medicinal smell, but not unpleasant.

-         The combination of spices in this scent strangely created a pumpkin apple scent.

-         A light fruity scent that is made sweet by marshmallow.

-         This was a sneaky scent. It had been in the warmer and nothing…then bam! A fruity explosion! Smelled like a creamy version of my favorite scent, fruit loops!

-         A pleasantly light cinnamon sugar scent.

-         This fruity orange combination comes across almost as a pleasant sweet floral.

• Pumpkin Fluff

-         A sweet pumpkin spice scent.

• White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie

-         A bakery scent that reminds me of baking chocolate cookies. Normally this wouldn’t meet my high standards for chocolate scents (because of the artificial nature of the chocolate), but the combination within the scent makes it tolerable.
 

• Frosted Carrot Cake

-         The sweetness from the frosting and spice from the carrot cake. It smells more like the spice from the carrot cake than the carrot cake itself. Overall, a very pleasant scent.

• Vanilla Frosted Graham

-         A creamy sweet vanilla scent with cinnamon sugar notes that resemble graham crackers.

• I have an unhealthy attachment to my 24 watt warmer. Unfortunately this vendor’s wax scent will not last long in a 24 watt. I use the recommended 20 watt warmer recommended by the vendor.

• This vendor is definitely worth the try if you have not already. I can’t wait to order more fruity mallow, vanilla frosted grahams, and lemon scents from this vendor because they are definitely my favorite the vendor has to offer.
