The Waxie Lady herself is Dawn Reilly-Friedlander.  I tried this vendor’s wax prior to starting my blog. My previous experience with this vendor made the decision to review her wax simple.  I have had many conversations with Dawn, and she is just an awesome person.

  • Availability:
    • When I first stumbled upon this vendor, her etsy shop was fully stocked and her custom list was easy to get on. Although she plans to reopen her etsy stock, it is not known when her custom list will reopen for signup.

  • Turn Around Time (TAT): TAT for this vendor honestly depends on what you order. The date the subscription boxes will ship are listed on the details for each subscription box prior to them being available for purchase. The vendor’s etsy’s shop will be RTS when she restocks the shop. If you ever have any questions about this vendor’s TAT, feel free to ask.

  • Price: $$

  • Cure Time: The vendor’s items are ready to melt when you receive them. I always let all my wax cure for no less than 1 month.

  • Warmer Recommended: I honestly believe this vendor’s wax will throw in most warmers. For the strongest throw, 24 watt warmers are best.

My custom made Nautical themed loaf in Fruit Loops/Cotton Candy Scent blend.

My fiance's custom made loaf for his birthday gift. It is in his favorite Waxy Lady scent, Fruit Stripe Gum!


  • Wax Look: Absolutely Stunning! These custom loaves will be extremely hard to melt.
 

  • Cold Smell:
    • Fruit Stripe Gum
-         An awesome fruity smell that is very similar to the gum.

    • Fruit Loop/Cotton Candy
-         A very strong fruit smell.  The fruit loop scent is obviously present, but melts with a blueberry notes within the cotton candy.

    • Strawberry Lemonade
-         A very tart lemonade scent with very subtle strawberry notes.

    • Sand in Your Shorts
-         A very light creamy scent with earthy notes.

    • Key Lime Coconut Drizzle
-         A very cream lime scent with a hint of coconut. Overall, a very pleasant cold scent.

    • California Dreaming Orange
-         Smells exactly like freshly squeezed orange juice!

    • Twisted Orange Punch
-         A smell that resembled a very pleasant fruit punch scent.

    • Sizzlin Hot Banana
-         A very cream banana scent.

-         N/A

    • Pink Sugar Watermelon Secret
-         The pink sugar and watermelon scents blended together wonderfully to become only what I can describe as a super watermelon scent.

    • Raspberry Lemonade
-         All I could smell was the lemonade with an subtle hint of raspberry. I am not a huge fan of raspberry, so I was ok with this.

-         A creamy pineapple scent.


Wax Melting Review: 

  • Detailed Description of Each Smell
    • Fruit Stripe Gum
-         An awesome strong fruity scent that is very similar to the gum it is name after.

    • Fruit Loop/Cotton Candy
-         A very noticeable fruity scent. A fruit loop scent that has sharp tart notes from the cotton candy that it is melded with.

    • Strawberry Lemonade
-         Any remnants of the strawberry are easily masked by the strong tart lemonade scent.

    • Sand in Your Shorts
-         Pleasant and creamy sand like smell is the only way I can think to describe this smell.

    • Key Lime Coconut Drizzle
-         A very light creamy lime scent.

    • California Dreaming Orange
-         Surprised that I couldn’t really smell much. Upon close inspection it smelled like orange juice.

    • Twisted Orange Punch
-         A light fruit punch scent.

    • Sizzlin Hot Banana
-         A wonderful banana scent with what I believe is a very subtle hint of cinnamon. If you like banana scents, I highly recommend this one. Heck if you don’t really like them, I still recommend this one!!!

-         It smelled like watermelon.

    • Raspberry Lemonade
-         Within seconds of putting this tart on the warmer it was emitting smell. It smelled like a tart lemonade.

  • Overall Impression
    • Although these particular scents were not my favorite, I fell in love with this vendor’s wax prior to writing blog reviews.  She has earned a designated spot in my wax collection. The owner is a sweetheart.

-         Never been a fan of grapefruit scents.

-         I find mango scents unappealing.

-         I didn’t like this one enough to keep it. I am very selective with my keep wax.

    • Strawberry Lemonade
-         I just couldn’t tell if I liked this scent or not. I didn’t love it, so I didn’t want to keep it. I definitely liked how bold this scent came across though.

    • Pink Sugar Watermelon Secret
-         I actually somewhat liked this scent. I have never been a huge fan over watermelon scents because they tend to lead to migraines. It doesn’t necessarily mean you would get a migraine from this scent. If you like watermelon, I highly recommend this scent!

    • Pineapple Ahhmazing
-         This scent wasn’t strong enough for me. I honestly believe that this scent would have come across harsh if it were too strong or intense. I think I may not be the biggest fan of pineapple scents. This particular pineapple scent was actually really nice walking into my room. It wasn’t as bold as most scents I like to melt though.

  • How the wax could be improved?/Was it missing something?
    • I loved the twisted orange punch scent; I just wish it was stronger.

  • Was it worth the money?
    • Absolutely!

  •  Would I purchase from this vendor again?
    • Yes, I will purchase from her again. Despite me not falling in love within this month’s subscription box, I am fairly sure my next order will redeem my faith in this vendor’s wax.

-         This one did not emit much of a scent. Upon very close inspection it resembled a light strawberry scent.

    • Pumpkin Apple Strudel
-         A spice apple scent with a very subtle hint of pumpkin.

    • Apple Jack ‘N Peel
-         Apple scent with hints of spice. I also swore there were some citrus notes in this scent, such as orange.  This deceptive citrus note could have been a result of the blending of apple and spice.

    • “Ultimate” Pumpkin Pie
-         This one passed the Kenny test (My fiancé who can’t smell anything due to a chronic stuffed up nose could smell this scent). This was a very pleasant pumpkin scent with just a hint of spice.

    • Coconut Cream Pie
-         A creamy coconut scent.

    • Banana Zucchini Bread
-         Immediately got that strong banana bread scent. It was very pleasant.

-         The pumpkin and gingerbread scent melded well together to create a very pleasant holiday aroma.
