Pre-Review/Post-Order:
As any great wax addict, Christian Davis began melting wax in 2008 with brand names like Yankee Candle. It was
only a short time before Christian discovered the small business of independent
wax vendors. Wax became Christian’s passion. Christian took comfort in
their scent wafting from the warmers. It did not hurt that her personal spaces
now smelled fabulous. Christian always had blends running through her mind, and
she felt her calling to share them with the world. In 2018, Christian and her
husband decided to open their own wax business. She needed a way to stand out
amongst the competition of wonderful wax vendors. Christian had always disliked
cutting wax for her warmer, and an idea was born. That is when she came up with
the concept of Waxy Taffy, which was themed after her favorite candy and
resembled saltwater taffy wrapped in wax paper. The Waxy Taffy was easy to
handle; just unwrap it and throw it in the warmer. Starting Waxy Taffy has
allowed both Christian and her husband to stay home and enjoy the precious
moments of their child growing up, as she was only 2 ½ years old when the
company opened. Christian and her family are thankful for the beautiful
blessing of being brought together through their company and making their way
as a small business in the wax world.

· Where to Order: www.waxytaffy.com
· Availability:
o The vendor does RTS orders.
You can join her Facebook group to keep up to date on the release date of these
orders to get the top pick of products.
o There is no custom order
waitlist as well.
o Customs are offered through
pre-orders only, which occur every other month.
· Turn
Around Time (TAT):
o The TAT for custom orders is 5
to 7 weeks, although the vendor often finishes early. Anyone can order from the
house bends or come up with their blend for each pre-order opening.
· Price:
o $$$
· Cure
Time:
o The wax cure time is the
standard two weeks, but the vendor completes that waiting process for her
customers.
o In preparation for openings,
the vendor prepares her wax melts first so they can cure while she makes bath,
body, and car fresheners.
o Once orders arrive with
customers, they are already beyond the two weeks suggested cure time.
o The wax only gets better over
time, so it is up to the discretion of the customer if they want to allow their
product to cure for additional time once they receive their order.
· Warmer
Recommended:
o 20–24-watt hot plate warmers,
and halogen bulb warmers, are recommended.
o Lower wattage warmers are good
for small spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms.
o Tealight warmers for softer
scents, as they get very hot, and carry scent well.
o Just because the warmer is
cute, doesn't mean it will perform well, so definitely test your warmers!

Look:
o I have to say I am impressed.
This wax arrived when I got called into the hospital and was there for hours on
a hot day and did not even remember to retrieve it from the mailbox until
midday the next hot day. I saw no evidence of melting whatsoever. Did I mention
the business ships from Arizona where they are experiencing record high temps?
o The colors of the wax were
beautiful. I mean look at the marble on Rocket Pop!
o I found the embellishments on
the wax simple but very cute.
· Cold
Smell:
o Day Dreamer – A beautiful
spa-like scent that has a strong menthol to round out the entire scent.
o Orange Creamsicle - A light
creamy orange scent. Exactly what a creamsicle should smell like!
o Rocket Popsicle – A beautiful
fruity scent that reminds me of running for the ice cream man!
o Hawaiian Dew – Fruity and
effervescent.
o Baja Blast – An effervescent
scent with subtle citrus undertones. If Baja Blast had a smell, this would be
it!
o Virgo Mood – A creamy almond
scent with subtle spa undertones.
o Vanilla Santal & Shea
Butter – A light and creamy sandalwood scent.

Sum Up:
· Overall
Impression
o I
enjoyed this vendor's scent blends. They are creative, but not so far out there
that they are difficult to imagine.
o I love
the fragrance oil the vendor uses. Not every fragrance vendor has mastered
every scent. For example, fruit loops from one fragrance vendor is sweeter and
another has some underlying spice notes. I prefer the sweeter version. I suspected
that the vendor uses different vendors for different fragrance oils and
confirmed it via email.
o While
the scents didn’t have the farthest throw, they were fairly strong in the
immediate area. This is great for an office space or an area in which you spend
a great deal of time.
· Pros
o Beautiful
scent blends!
o Travels
well no matter what the season!
o Very Pretty
Wax Colors & Decorations!
· Cons
o No
Cure Date on Bag – I waited a month from the day of shipping for maximum scent
throw.

Disliked Scents
o Rocket

o Hawaiian

· If it
ends up in a destash, why?
o Rocket
Popsicle – This scent just was not strong enough for me. I loved the cold smell.
o Hawaiian
Dew – While I loved this scent, it wasn’t strong enough for me. Also, it was similar
to Baja Blast, but since the Baja Blast was stronger I would prefer to keep
that scent.
o Vanilla
Santal & Shea Butter – This scent was very similar to Virgo Mood. I felt enjoyed
the sandalwood notes in Virgo Mood more than Vanilla Santal & Shea Butter
so that is the one I decided to keep.
· How
the wax could be improved? /Was it missing something?
o I
recommend a pour date on the packaging. I waited a month after receiving the
wax because I was not sure about the pour date and wanted to ensure everything
was properly cured. In reality, some of the wax may have been ready to melt
upon arrival.
o For
scents like Rocket Popsicle and Hawaiian Dew that just were not strong but
delicious cold, I would recommend obtaining similar fragrance oils from
different vendors that perhaps have a stronger throw. I don’t know where she
gets the orange creamsicle fragrance oil, but a normally light scent filled a three-story
single-family home.
· Was it
worth the money?
o Absolutely!
· Would
I purchase from this vendor again?
o Absolutely
