Vendor: Lasting Scent Candles

Review Author: Lindsay Sara
Order Placed: October 4, 2014
Order Received: November 28, 2014

Pre-Review/Post Order:
  • Products
    • Wax Melts

  • Where to Order: http://www.lastingscentcandles.com/

  • Availability: The vendor has announced openings every couple of months and announces the opening beforehand. Although the vendor does not remain open for very long making this vendor’s wax a bit tricky to obtain.

  • Turn Around Time (TAT): Lists TAT on home page of website at the time of order.

  • Price: $$$

  • Cure Time: Two weeks. I will be letting this vendor’s wax cure no less than one month.

  • Warmer Recommended:
    • 20 – 24 watt hot plate warmer.
    • A warming tip about the tarts: Lasting Scent Candles' tarts are designed to use the entire 1.5 ounce tart in a single use because of the wax to oils ratio. If you burn less than a 1.5 ounce tart at one time, please keep in mind that considerably less oil will be present in the wax, and the scent will not be as strong; nor will it last as long, due to less fragrance oil being present than there would be in a full size tart (e.g., if you are using 1/2 of a tart, the fragrance oil present is reduced by 1/2). All our fragrances are thoroughly tested by using a 1.5 ounce tart.

    • Pumpkin Marshmallow Grahams
-         A delicious bakery scent that has a creamy pumpkin scent as the predominant note with subtle cinnamon sugar bakery undertones.

-         A light pumpkin bakery scent.

    • Snicklefritz

Sum Up:
  • Overall Impression
    • Like most vendors, this vendor has some hit or miss scents. While some are amazing others leave something to be desired. Overall, the vendor does produce good wax. I do recommend checking this vendor out if you have yet to do so. I look forward to seeing what blends this vendor has to offer in the future.

  • Pros
    • No Scent Nose (My nose never got used to the scent if I remained in the room for an extended period of time. I could smell the scent throughout the duration of the time it was melting.)
    • Interesting Blends!
    • Long Lasting Scents!

  • Cons
    • Harder vendor to order from.
    • Vendor recommends not cutting tarts, but tarts are simply too large to fit into most warmers.
-         I found that cutting the tarts really does not affect the throw as the vendor says. The scents threw just as well if not better (less wax generally means a scent heats up more and produces a better scent throw.)
-         The vendor’s logic on not cutting the tarts simply did not make a lot of sense. I have personally made wax and can attest that unless the vendor was making each tart individually, her explanation did not fit. This logic only proves useful for selling more wax. (I don’t think this is the vendor’s reason either considering she limits the amount of each scent sold per customer.) Overall, I couldn’t explain the logic behind this statement made on the vendor’s main webpage.

  • Overall Liked Scents
    • Snickerfritz
    • Pumpkin Cookie Dough
    • Cider Dipped Donuts
    • Pumpkin Marshmallow Grahams
    • Spooky Apparitions
    • Trick or Treat
-         I wasn’t sure if I would like this scent upon cold sniff, but it turned out to be very interesting once warmed.

  • Overall Disliked Scents
    • Fried Apple French Toast
-         I would have liked this scent more if it had kept its bakery notes when warmed.

    • Pumpkin French Toast
-         I wasn’t a huge fan of this scent. It was somewhat boring.

  • If it ends up in a destash, why?
    • N/A

  • How the wax could be improved?/Was it missing something?
    • N/A

  • Was it worth the money?
    • Yes

  •  Would I purchase from this vendor again?
    • Yes. I really hope they offer more pumpkin marshmallow grahams. I really like this scent and can totally imagine myself melting this year round.
