Vintage Chic Scents is owned and
operated by Kirby Welsh. This vendor has truly come up with something special.
She has a nose for scents, and the ability to create some truly amazing unique
scent combinations. Welsh definitely has a vision for her company, “I've
always loved fragrances and scents since I was a little girl. I always love how
scents will relate to memories, loved ones, experiences, and places. I also
love classic movies, vintage things, and family traditions. I wanted to create
scents that evoked memories for others and also share my memories through
scents as well. I think that's what makes me unique. You won't see a scent just
called strawberry or cinnamon. Everything is really thought out with care and
love.” Vintage Chic Scents has been in business since January 2014, and came up with the name through her YouTube channel. The vendor also wants all her customers to know,
“I am just so overwhelmed so all the support. I love each and every customer;
appreciate each and every order, no matter how big or small... This business
would be nothing without you! We have become such a wonderful vintage loving
wax loving family!”

- Where to Order: http://www.vintagechicscents.com/
- Availability:
The website is restocked twice a month on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Essentially the dates for the openings are announced as the other opening
is closing. The vendor does not leave her customers in the dark at all.
You are well aware of when the opening will be occurring. She even gives
customers the opportunity to vote for what they want to see stocked for
the openings.
- Turn Around Time (TAT): Everything on the website is RTS. The orders are shipped within a few days of the order being placed.
- Price: $$$
- Cure Time:
The vendor recommends letting her wax cure a minimum of two weeks. The
vendor did note that a lot of her customers let her wax cure for no less
than a month! This is definitely one of those waxes that you must sniff
and use personal judgment to determine if it is ready to be melted. The
wax has the potential to be very strong if you allow for ample cure time.
I personally will be waiting no less than two months!
- Warmer Recommended:
Light bulb warmers and 20 watt hot plate warmers.
- My Order:
- Oh What A Beautiful Morning’ (Scent Shot)

This

This mishmash of glazed cinnamon
donuts, snicker doodle, and marshmallow begs the question, “Who done it?”.
- Gatsby (Scent Shot)
-
Jay Gatsby, the protagonist of F.
Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless tale of love, greed, and betrayal, was revered for
his lavish parties. This scent is a blending of blushing peaches, champagne,
and vanilla. This scent will make you feel like you’re the life of one of
Gatsby’s parties.

- Wax Look:
- I received this wax on a day with a heat advisory. There was absolutely no melting whatsoever! By far, the hottest day I have received wax and it was in amazing condition.
- The wax is pretty and classic just like the vendor’s name suggests the wax would be. There are little sprinkles and sparkles on scent shots. The wax tart I received was just adorable. The colors are vibrant. Very pretty and very classy.
- Cold Smell:
- Oh What A Beautiful Morning’
-
Smells
like a pancake breakfast. It is somewhat heavy on the buttery syrup, none the
less it smells great!!!
- Film Noir
-
A creamy cinnamon donut like scent.
- Gatsby
-
This scent is a fruity blend that
comes together to produce a grapefruit scent. Unlike most grapefruits, I didn’t
immediately dismiss this scent because it was actually very pleasant.
- Over the Rainbow
-
A delicate fruity scent with a
distinguishable orange scent as one of the primary notes..
- Princess of Manaco
-
A sweet and creamy lemon scent. Just
a very pleasant strong lemon scent on cold sniff.
- War of the Worlds
-
A creamy fruity scent. It
essentially is a creamy version of my favorite scent, fruit loops!
- Lucy & Ethel
-
Smells like pistachio pudding. It
has a sweet fruity scent as opposed to a pistachio nut like scent. The fruity
aspect is like a sweet maraschino cherry.
- Three Little Birds
-
Probably the strongest cold smelling
Pina Colada scent I’ve ever smelled.

Sum Up:
- Overall Impression
- This vendor is pretty awesome. Ironically, I got this vendor’s wax in a destash and hated the scent. The reason I decided to give this vendor another try was because when I did try one of her creative scent combinations, it was super strong!!! As soon as I got the scents I ordered, I knew I was going to love this vendor. That is why I ordered again when scents I found appealing came along in a restock prior to completing my review.
- Pros
- A lot of unique scent combinations.
- Essentially, you decide what she restocks the shop with. In her Facebook group she runs polls to decide what will be included in the next restock!
- Cons
- Complex names for common scents. This requires that a wish list and plan to be set up prior to the shop opening. Without a list, you are likely to forget descriptions of scents you have not tried.

Not my
favorite scent of all time, but there is definitely something about this scent

- Over the Rainbow
- If it ends up in a destash, why?
- Over the Rainbow
-
I keep
trying this scent from different vendors hoping it will impress me, but it
never seems to do so.
- How the wax could be improved?/Was it missing something?
- I loved Princess of Manoco. I thought it would be more intense, but the marshmallow calmed it down once it was melting. I wish there was a way to keep the creamy aspect of the scent, but increase the lemon intensity.
- Film Noir was a scent I enjoyed, but I felt it had potential to be more powerful. It was pleasant none the less. Cinnamon can be a very intense scent, and I feel as if that wasn’t the case in this scent. I did appreciate that. Unfortunately, the marshmallow mellowed the entire scent. Perhaps a little less marshmallow would allow the overall wonderful scent to be slightly more intense without being overpowering.
- Was it worth the money?
- Absolutely!
- Would I purchase from this vendor again?
- I bought again from this vendor already the following opening after this order’s opening! So if you cannot tell, yes most definitely!!!
