Pre-Review/Post Order:

Sweat Treats Wax Melts is owned and operated by Gennifer Baker. The company specializes in making wax melts for tart burners. They do offer a variety of scents and offer a unique surprise. Each order has an equal opportunity to win a mystery melt at no additional charge. These mystery melts can contain jewelry, money, or free wax.  Each order is hand poured to perfection with great pride. Baker has spent countless amounts of time and money testing to perfection. Baker would not sell a customer anything she herself wouldn’t purchase as a consumer. If the vendor pours wax that isn’t up to her high standards, it would not be shipped to a customer. The vendor keeps in close contact with each and every customer to ensure satisfaction. She values opinions and feedback so that she is able to improve and perfect her products.
The creation of Sweet Treats Wax Melts was inspired by Baker’s mother. She made her mother a huge basket of wax for Mother’s Day, and it became popular with her mother’s friends. Starting the business was actually Baker’s daughter’s idea. Her daughter loves sweets, and from that idea Sweet Treats Wax Melts was born.
The vendor took her daughter’s love of candy, and used it as inspiration.  The vendor’s wax is inspired by candy’s bright colors, different textures, and amazing variety.  The vendor is also inspired by people. She feels that we can learn a lot from one another. The vendor said, “Money may come and go, but people make the world go round.”
This vendor has only recently been open to the public. Online sales only began on July 4, 2014. The vendor does sell soap and wax locally. The vendor hopes to bring soap sales online by Fall 2014.
This vendor sets herself apart from others by ensuring quality. The vendor does not care how much money she spends or makes, it is about providing a quality product. She is more concerned with putting a smile on others faces using her creativity with wax, than about making a quick buck.

  • Wax Look: The wax survived the heat. I have to say…I love the colors she uses! Her wax is bright and colorful. The sparkles are appropriately coordinated with the color of the wax. Overall, I am very pleased with the appearance of this wax. Oh…and the muffin..is probably one of the cutest muffins I have ever seen!

Seriously...how cute is this muffin!!! It is very pretty too!

  • Cold Smell:
    • Cherry Mist (Scent Shot)
-         A very sweet cherry scent. Not sure if I like it….

    • Mango (Scent Shot)
-         N/A

    • Monkey Business (Scent Shot)
-         Smells like a strong tropical fruit combination. Pineapple is probably the fruit that stands out the most to me.

    • Pina Colada (Scent Shot)
-         A lightly scented wax that smells very much like a pina colada (a light pineapple coconut mixture).

    • Fresh Peach (4 Pack of Square Tarts)
-         A light realistic peach smell.

    • Key Lime Pie (Mini Muffin)
-         A don’t just have the typical key lime smell in this tart. From cold sniff alone, it seems to be truly realistic key lime scent. There is a wonderful creamy note within this tart. It beautifully adds a delicate balance to the key lime scent.

Wax Melting Review:

  • Detailed Description of Each Smell
    • Cherry Mist (Scent Shot)
-         A sweet cherry scent. Somewhat of a medicinal cherry smell.

    • Mango (Scent Shot)
-         N/A

    • Monkey Business (Scent Shot)
-         A very pleasant fruity smell. I generally don’t like tropical scents, but this is very nice. It isn’t too overwhelming and not overly bitter like many tropical fruits. Pineapple is probably the scent I notice the most, but other fruits are noticeable (Just can’t peg which ones).

    • Pina Colada (Scent Shot)
-         Smells as if I had a pina colada sitting in front of me.

    • Fresh Peach ( 4 Pack of Square Tarts)
-         A very light peach scent.

    • Key Lime Pie (Mini Muffin)
-         Very true key lime pie scent. It smells as if I have the pie right in front of me. The creaminess of the scent is just right. I have to say that this scent is very true to its name!

  • Comparison to Cold Smell
    • Cherry Mist (Scent Shot)
-         Similar

    • Mango (Scent Shot)
-         N/A

    • Monkey Business (Scent Shot)
-         Very similar to cold smell. Not as intense as cold smell.

    • Pina Colada (Scent Shot)
-         Smells very similar to cold smell, but slightly stronger.

    • Fresh Peach ( 4 Pack of Square Tarts)
-         Similar

    • Key Lime Pie (Mini Muffin)
-         The smells were sharper in the cold smell, and meld together perfectly in a warmer.

  • Scent Throw:
    • Cherry Mist (Scent Shot)
-         3

    • Mango (Scent Shot)
-         N/A

    • Monkey Business (Scent Shot)
-         A strong 2, which maintained a noticeable presence throughout melting. Unlike other scents I have tried, I never got wax nose while this was melting (Sometimes scents seem to disappear if you are around them for an extended period of time).

    • Pina Colada (Scent Shot)
-         1

    • Fresh Peach ( 4 Pack of Square Tarts)
-         1

    • Key Lime Pie (Mini Muffin)
-         2. This one also avoided wax nose while melting. The entire time this little muffin was melting, the presence of the scent was obviously noticeable.

Sum Up:
·         Overall Impression
o    Brand new vendor who is dead set on making every customer happy no matter what the cost. Considering customer service can make or break a company, striving to make every customer happy will most likely result in a successful future for this company.

  • Pros
    • Consistent strength of scent.
    • Vendor loves feedback.
    • Very realistic scents.
    • She offers scents that could technically be aggravating to sense (give headaches) if done incorrectly, but she manages to do these scents in a pleasant way. (Many of these scents I would normally avoid due to the tendency for them to cause migraines, but so far I have remained headache free melting this vendor’s wax).

  • Cons
    • Fairly safe scents available. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as scent choices.

  • Overall Liked Scents
    • Key Lime Pie
    • Monkey Business
    • Pina Colada
-         Normally I don’t like scents with this low of a scent throw, but I truly like this scent.

  • Overall Disliked Scents
    • Mango
    • Peach
    • Cherry Mist
-         Smells like a sweet version of cough syrup.

  • If it ends up in a destash/RAOK, why?
    • Mango
-         I dislike mango scents. I find them on the harsher side of citrus fruits and tend to be less sweet than I prefer my fruity scents to be.

    • Peach
-         Just not strong enough for me.

  • How the wax could be improved?/Was it missing something?
    • I do feel like this wax could be improved, but not sure exactly on what aspect.

  • Was it worth the money?
    •  N/A I won the items through a Facebook game!

  •  Would I purchase from this vendor again?
    • Yes, I am very curious to see what else this vendor has to offer. As a new vendor who uses feedback to improve, this vendor’s quality of wax will only become better with every purchase. I also wouldn’t have necessarily chosen these scents for myself, because normally they would aggravate my sense. I would love to see her take on some of my favorite scents.
