Pre-Review/Post Order:

Judi Cox is the owner and operator of Ring of Fire Candles. This vendor’s wax obsession began after purchasing nearly 100 candles from Diamond Candles. After 100 candles, the vendor never rarely received a ring that fit let alone a real ring, which proved to be an issue due to a nickel allergy. Despite a dissatisfaction with prizes, she still loved to feed this addiction. With these ideas of change, the idea for Ring of Fire Candles was born. In the beginning she was automatically set apart from other vendors by letting individuals choose their ring size and guaranteeing .925, 10k or 14k jewelry. I also mentioned to the vendor that I think she was also set apart by her prices, which I immediately took note of when she appeared on the scene. Since the beginning, her candles with guaranteed jewelry were just as affordable as Diamond Candles who didn’t guarantee your jewelry would not be costume jewelry. The vendor has also began putting her jewelry on top to appease the tendencies of those who do not like to wait for their prize.

  • Availability: The vendor says the only time she considers closing is the week of Christmas, and even then she normally doesn’t end up closing.

  • Turn Around Time (TAT): Average TAT is 2 weeks. This is of course, with the exception of illness or other unforeseen emergency.

  • Price: $$ for Anything Labeled Treasure $$$ for Anything Without

  • Cure Time: The vendor recommends 1-2 weeks. She did say her wax was soy, so personally, I recommend no less than 3 months for optimal throw.

  • Warmer Recommended: The vendor recommends a Glade warmer or a warmer with a 24 watt bulb. The vendor’s daughter swears by the use of tealight warmers for this vendor’s wax. The vendor personally cannot attest to this because she does not feel comfortable testing tealight warmers with pets.

  • Wax Look:
    • Pretty and colorful!
    • Due to increasing heat, the wax was a bit smudged. Considering I am going to be melting it anyways I don’t really care about that (I just figured I would mention it because it does appear in the pictures).
    • We did have a bit of a waxident. The scent shot with the Aroma Crystals seemed to have leaked within the package. I have already suggested placing these particular types of samples within a polypropylene bag in the future. After much discussion with the vendor, we are not exactly sure why the package ended up with a sticky jelly like substance, but we do know that it was from the crystals (which are not usually sticky). It did make my package very fragrant.

  • Cold Smell:
    • Fruit Explosion ~ This scent reminds me a bit like juicy fruit bubble gum.
    • Lavender Vanilla ~ A creamy delicate floral lavender scent.
    • Vanilla Cream ~ A sweet almost powdery vanilla scent.

Wax Melting Review:
  • Detailed Description of Each Smell
    • Fruit Explosion ~ A delicate sweet fruity scent that resembles a juicy fruit gum. I personally find the scent much more appealing than the scent of the gum.
    • Lavender Vanilla ~ A delicate floral lavender scent that is made subtly creamier with vanilla notes.
    • Vanilla Cream ~ A delicate sweet and creamy vanilla scent.

  • Comparison to Cold Smell
    • Fruit Explosion ~ Similar
    • Lavender Vanilla ~ Similar
    • Vanilla Cream ~ Similar, but less intense.

  • Scent Throw:
    • Fruit Explosion ~ 2
    • Lavender Vanilla ~ 3
    • Vanilla Cream ~ 2

Sum Up:
  • Overall Impression
    • I have had talks with this vendor in the past regarding wax she included in a sampler. I was not impressed with the wax I received in the sampler. As a good vendor should do, she accepted my constructive criticism and used it to improve her wax for the future. I really can’t ask any more from any vendor.

  • Pros
    • Quick TAT
    • Continuously Growing Company
    • Friendly Vendor (I always put this point. Not all vendors use constructive criticism to improve, but this vendor does.)
    • Reasonably Priced
    • Nothing Less than 925 Sterling Silver in Items that Come with Jewelry

  • Cons
    • Limited Scent Selection (This goes hand-in-hand with continuously growing point that I included in Pros. This vendor’s scent selection has grown as the vendor has grown.)

  • Overall Liked Scents
    • Vanilla Cream
    • Lavender Vanilla
    • Fruit Explosion

  • Overall Disliked Scents
    • N/A

  • If it ends up in a destash, why?
    • Although there was leftover wax, there was not a significant amount to put into a destash.

  • How the wax could be improved?/Was it missing something?
    • I know some people may want a stronger vanilla cream, but I honestly liked it at the level it was. Any stronger and it would have resembled the cold smell, which I was not as fond of. In fact, I prejudged (I know bad ..shame on me). I disliked the cold smell and thought I would dislike the scent. I actually enjoyed the scent a lot. I brought this up not as an improvement point, but it is more of an FYI.

  • Was it worth the money?
    • Yes

  •  Would I purchase from this vendor again?
    • Yes!

    1. I believe she has renamed the company several times. I believe they are Midwest Mama Scents now on Facebook.
