I am thinking about starting up the blog again. I am also thinking of including a more modern aspect such as YouTube or TikTok. Any thoughts?

Just an Update

Nominations for the 2016/2017 Waxy Awards are now open! Please make sure you only nominate a vendor once. If you are not sure if your vendor has been nominated, use CTRL+F and type in the vendor's name. This will greatly help reduce repeats.

Just FYI, there have been some issues with posting follow-up reviews. For whatever reason, after so many updates the blog is unable to accept anymore changes to a particular page. If I am reviewing scents for a particular vendor that the original page will not allow me to update, I will post in the title to see the new page for follow-up reviews. Thank-you for your patience and understanding. This summer I may just compress everything back into one page per vendor. That would require redoing the vendor's entire page. During the school semester, I just don't have extra time to do that. This way, I feel as if I can keep up on the reviews and still post them publicly for all to see.

2015/2016 Waxy Award Winners

The 2015/2016 Waxy Award Winners are as follows:
It was brought to my attention that this vendor has been around for more than the time period for best new vendor. Regardless, she won in a landslide. I would like to use this as an example to please do your research when nominating new vendors and make sure that they fit the qualifying dates. Nominations for this category role in very quickly, and doing research on each vendor would be a full time job.

Waxy Awards Update

The Waxy Award nominations have been updated. There are several things you should remember when filling in a choice on the poll...
1.) Do not write in an option that is already up there because your vote will not count.
2.) Only one vendor entry. If you have several nominations, please submit them separately.

The nomination page is still up on the blog. Just FYI, the fill in choice will be removed for the final voting rounds which will begin the first of January.

Unacceptable Blog Comments

Someone left a really nasty comment about a vendor on my blog about a vendor. It was a personal attack on the vendor.  I will not stand for immature and childish behavior. There is drama in the wax world, and I don't want to have any part in it. I am really glad I moderate the comments. I am happy to say that most people comment appropriately.

Let me make this crystal clear. I do appreciate honesty, but I also believe in being tactful when sharing your opinion. Also...if you don't have the balls to put your name by your nasty comments...keep them to yourself. If you can't own up to your childish negative opinions, why should I publish it?!

Here is an example of blog comments that are made tactfully and what is not...
Not Acceptable (This is the actual comment I received): (Insert vendor's owner name) is a piece of shit.
Acceptable: I have had some less than pleasant experiences with this vendor. (Then explain your side of the story).

Not Acceptable: That vendor's wax smells like dog shit.
Acceptable: I really didn't like these particular scents when I tried them. (Then explain what about these particular scents you did not like and how the vendor could improve that scent if it is possible for the vendor to do so).

This blog was created to provide honest reviews, not to trash talk vendors.
I want both customers and vendors to benefit from these reviews. I try to make the reviews as detailed as possible about my experience with vendors and allow the reader to draw their own conclusion.

If some part of my experience was not up to the vendor's own standards, they use the blog reviews as constructive criticism to make improvements. This brings me to my next point. Vendors: If you would like more information on how to improve specific aspects, please feel free to contact me. If my experience was not what you wanted it to be as a vendor, and the blog didn't provide enough detail to allow you to improve....contact me!
